Your Parish Needs You

Could you help make a difference in St. Wenn Parish?

St. Wenn Parish Council is looking for local people who care about their community and would like to play a part in shaping its future. Parish councillors are ordinary residents who want to help their local area thrive — by listening to local views, supporting community priorities, and making decisions that benefit the parish.

You do not need previous council experience. What matters most is that you care about St. Wenn, are willing to listen, and can bring your ideas, local knowledge and enthusiasm to the role.

Why become a Parish Councillor?

Becoming a Parish Councillor is a practical way to give something back to your community. It gives you the opportunity to:

  • help represent the views and needs of local residents;
  • support improvements to local facilities, services and open spaces;
  • have a say on issues affecting the parish, including planning matters;
  • work with others to protect and enhance the character of St. Wenn;
  • gain new skills and experience in local decision-making;
  • help ensure that local voices are heard.

Parish councils are the first tier of local government and play an important role in representing communities. NALC explains that councillors help develop plans and strategies for their area, represent the community, work with local groups, make decisions and talk to residents about their needs.
